Robert A. Maley
Since August 2005, Mr. Maley has been the President of Gilford Securities Incorporated. From January 1996 until July 2005. Mr. Maley was a principal of Gilford serving as Senior VP of Capital Markets and a member of the firm's Management Advisory Group and a member of the Board of Directors since January 2000. Mr. Maley joined Gilford in January 1994 as Syndicate Manager. Mr. Maley has served as Chief Financial Officer of Gilford Financial Corp. a Registered Investment Advisor, since 1998. Previously, he served in various finance positions at Amphenol Corp., Unitel Corp. and CapCities ABC Corp. Mr. Maley received a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from LeMoyne College in 1986.
Robert M. Sawicki
Robert M. Sawicki has been a senior member of Gilford's Investment Banking team since February 2007. Mr. Sawicki's experience consists of domestic and international business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, project finance and other corporate transactions across several industries including energy, metals & mining, financial, investment funds, medical device, pharmaceutical, real estate, media, consumer products, healthcare and Internet and technology businesses. Prior to joining Gilford, Mr. Sawicki served as an investment banking professional at Northmarq Capital (formerly Legg Mason), where he was responsible for buy-side/sell-side advisory services as well as debt and equity placements. Prior to his experience at Legg Mason, Mr. Sawicki played professional basketball in the United States and internationally. He earned an M.B.A and B.S., Cum Laude, in Finance from Hartford University where he excelled as a Divison I student athlete earning several academic and athletic awards. Mr. Sawicki is NASD Series 7 and 63 licensed.
Randy A. Daniels
Mr Daniels joined Gilford Securities, Inc. in April 2007. From April 2001 to September 2006, he served as NYS Secretary of State. In his capacity as Secretary of State, he also helda number of other positions, including Chairman of the New York State Real Estate Board and the New York State 911 Board for wireless emergency calls. He was also a member of the Weapons of Mass Destruction Task Force. From December 1999 to April 2001, Mr. Daniels was Senior Vice President of Canyon Johnson Urban Fund, L.L.P., a real estate equity fund based in Beverly Hills, CA. From 1995 to 1999 Mr. Daniels served under Governor Pataki as Senior Vice President and Deputy Commissioner of Economic Revitalization at the Empire State Development Corporation. Mr. Daniels was Press Secretary to the Prime Minister of the Bahamas from 1988 to 1992, Director of Communications for the New York City Council President’s Office from 1986 to 1988. Mr. Daniels served as a National Correspondent for CBS News based in New York City from 1980 to 1982, Foreign Correspondent for CBS News in Nairobi, Kenya, from 1977 to 1980, Correspondent for CBS News in Chicago from 1972 to 1977, and Reporter for WVON Radio in Chicago from 1970 to 1972. Mr. Daniels holds a bachelor’s degree in government and journalism from Southern Illinois University.
Noah Agron
Noah Agron joined Gilford Securities' investment banking group in 2008 and currently specializes in financing transactions for public and private BRIC-based emerging markets companies. Previous to Gilford, he was a shareholder in the New York office of Camden Advisory Partners; an investment banking and M+A boutique. Mr. Agron earned an MBA from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver and a BA from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He began his career at Sun America/AIG Financial Advisary Services in New York and currenntly holds series 7 and 63 licenses.
Robert J. Kropp
Mr. Kropp joined Gilford Securities, Inc. in February 2007. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President and Director of Investment Banking for Ladenburg Thalmann & Co. Inc. in New York from 2000 to 2007, and Director of Corporate Finance for W.J. Nolan and Company Inc. in New York from 1998 to 2000. Mr. Kropp is also an attorney and CPA, with prior experience at Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP and Deloitte & Touche LLP in New York. Over his 26 years of professional experience, Mr. Kropp has been involved in numerous investment banking transactions with particular emphasis on public and private debt and equity financings, as well as mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Kropp received a B.S., Cum Laude, in Accounting from Drake University and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. He is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
John C. Moore, III
Mr. Moore joined Gilford Securities in June 2005, prior to which he served as Executive Vice President (Corporate Finance) at Mahler & Emerson from 2000-2005. From 1995-2002, he was a Managing Director at Brean Murray & Co., a New York boutique investment bank and money manager. For the five years prior to that Mr. Moore was a Managing Director at Ladenburg, Thalmann & Co., Inc. Mr. Moore has served as CEO, President and Board member of several public companies and as a Trustee of various charitable institutions, including the Peabody Conservatory of Music (now a department of Johns Hopkins University). He began his career as a lawyer at Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett and is a member of the Bar of the State of New York. Mr. Moore received his BA from Hamilton College and a JD from the University of Virginia law school, where he was on the Editorial Board of the Law Review and the Order of the Coif.
Ted Kalem
Prior to joining Gilford Securities, Mr. Kalem was a partner at Array Capital, LLC, which he joined in May 2004. Prior to
Array, Mr. Kalem was a Co-Founder and Partner of Everspring Capital, LLC., a New York based hedge fund focused on direct
investing utilizing quantitative methods in the Life Science and IT industries. From February 2000 until June 2001, Mr. Kalem
worked in the healthcare investment banking group at J.P. Morgan, where he led the firm's efforts in the biotechnology sector.
From February 1994 until February 2000, Mr. Kalem worked in the healthcare investment banking group at Lehman Brothers
in New York, focusing on biotechnology and pharmaceutical service companies. From September 1991 until February 1994,
Mr. Kalem worked as an investment banker for Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. in New York, where he specialized in providing
corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions advisory services to industrial companies in the U.S. Mr.Kalem received a BSE
degree in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University in 1987.
Nickolay Kukekov, Ph D.
Dr. Kukekov is a senior member of Gilford Securities healthcare banking team. Prior to joining Gilford Dr. Kukekov was Managing Director at Paramount BioCapital, a healthcare banking private equity firm. While at Paramount he ran the advisory, M&A and capital raising services for in-house private and public portfolio companies. Before that, he was a senior healthcare investment banker at Rodman & Renshaw with a primary focus on private placements, IPOs and reverse merger transactions. His scientific background includes a bachelor degree in molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York. Dr. Kukekov holds a number of research scholarship awards and peer review publications.
Ken Sorensen, Ph.D.
Prior to joining Gilford Securities, Dr. Sorensen was the founder and Managing Partner of Array Capital, LLC, a Life Sciences focused merchant bank. Prior to Array, Dr. Sorensen worked for Muzinich & Co., a New York based investment firm. where he managed a Private Equity Life Science Fund (Ariane Health). He was also lead manager for a number of biotechnology financings and mergers/acquisitions (incl, Ontogeny, Netgenics, Physiome, Avalon Pharmaceuticals). Dr. Sorensen's scientific credentials include dual bachelor's degrees in two disciplines of biology from the University of Kansas, a Ph.D. in developmental neurobiology from the University of Arizona and numerous scientific publications. Dr. Sorensen worked as a research scientist at the Salk Institute in La Jolla, where he was an Amgen and a Damon Runyon Fellow, conducting independent research in brain development. After his time at the Salk Institute Dr. Sorensen served at the U.S. Patent office in Washington D.C., as a Patent Examiner in the biotechnology division. He also served on the EST commission, a policy steering body for patenting issues surrounding the Human Genome Project. He successfully completed the Federal Bar Exam and is a registered Patent Agent.
